Braces

Dental braces (fixed appliances) are devices used in Orthodontics that align and straighten teeth and help to position them with regard to a person's bite, while also working to improve dental health. They are often used to correct malocclusions, overbites, open bites, deep bites, cross bites, crooked teeth, and various other flaws of the teeth and jaw. The aim of braces is to correct a cosmetic or functional problem.

The recommended age to bring your child in for their first Orthodontic consultation is no later than 7 years old. Orthodontists can spot subtle problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth while some baby teeth are still present. For young children, please refer to the section on “Early Treatment”.

Twin City offers many types of braces. They can be broadly classified into colored (metal), tooth colored (ceramic), self ligating or module tied. After the initial consultation, the appropriate type of braces will be recommended according to your treatment needs, esthetic preference and budget.
